Meet Carolyn.
I live in Easthampton, Massachusetts, with my wife, Julie, and my Cobberdog, Henry. After working out of several community studios for over 20 years, I repurposed a space in my home and built my own studio in the spring of 2020.
I love creating with clay- from the wedging and throwing to trimming, firing and glazing- I enjoy every step of the process. My pots are made for everyday life; pots to be touched, used, and enjoyed. I favor simple shapes and create glazes that remind me of the natural elements of water and earth.
In my life, I surround myself with handmade things, many from local artists and craftspeople. Our home has often been full (five children- now grown, but never gone for too long!), and some of my favorite memories involve crowding around the various tables of my life: sharing meals, stories, games, laughter, and making precious memories with the people I love.
My pottery-and the pottery of others-has played a part in many of my crowded table moments. I hope my work finds its way to your table too, and that you’re blessed with many of your own crowded table memories.
